Who Is Kelly-Marie

Kelly-Marie is an Australian-born designer with a lifelong passion for creating beautiful spaces. Her journey began in childhood, rearranging her bedroom furniture and exploring home interiors with open days with housing sales. She initially pursued a career in the beauty industry, working with colour for Guerlain at David Jones in Australia, where she developed a keen eye for palettes and composition.

Her expertise in colour eventually led her to the world of furniture and interiors, where she worked with major Australian stores like Le Cornu and the Homemaker Centre in Adelaide. There, she guided clients in selecting furniture and decor, blending style with function and refining her skills in design.

Between these careers, Kelly-Marie spent years traveling and living across Asia, the USA, and Europe, gaining a broad perspective on design. These global experiences, combined with her hands-on work in furnishings, shaped her unique approach.

Now based in Fryslân, Netherlands, she operates her design studio while advancing her studies with The Interior Design Institute Australia and working toward an Advanced Diploma in Interior Design.

A dedicated advocate for awareness around Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and Dyslexia, Kelly-Marie embraces these challenges as an integral part of her creativity. Outside of her studio, she enjoys working on projects at home and collaborating with friends.

Since 2017, Kelly-Marie has offered her personalised design services worldwide through her boutique business, DutchByDesign.

Who Is Edwin Evert

With every small business there is a lot of admin and technical business. Edwin is the man as an accounts & admin specialist. He works for DutchByDesign part time and his full time work is with the Government as a Business Analyst.

He has a lot of knowledge in DIY and home renovations. He loves to work on his home and is a local of Fryslân. Fryslân is the northern part of The Netherlands and it's more Scandinavian than Dutch. Frisians are also the tallest people in the world, and Edwin is very tall! He loves to spend his free time taking long walks with his dog, loves Belgian beer and enjoys handyman projects on his own home.
